He was predeceased by: his father Thomas L. Jones; and his sister Sherry Jones Baker. He is survived by: his mother Betty Lou Lawrence Jones of Peterstown, WV; his wife Sue Hollaway Jones; his son Shane Jones (Katrina) of Cashmere, WV; his grandson Sean Anthony Bishop; his siblings, Marshall (Pat Jones), Larry (Connie Jones), Jane (Bill Kersey), Tommie (Tony Noble), Rick (Sharon Jones), Tim Jones and Missy Evans; and his brother-in-law Steve Baker. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
