It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Douglas Spangler (Peterstown, West Virginia), who passed away on September 24, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde T. Spangler and Mary Riner Spangler; his wife Betty Sue Spangler; and his sisters, Esther Ford, Margaret Morris, Alice Crawford and Cora Spangler.
He is survived by: his children, John D. Spangler, Jr. of Lindside, WV and Melissa Asbury (Anthony) of Ballard, WV; his brother P. T. Spangler of Bluefield, WV; his grandchildren, Allie Bodnar (Zane), J. D. Spangler III (Alex), Chris Spangler (Kayla) and Michelle Toler (Nate); and his great grandchildren, Cooper Bodnar, Carter Bodnar and Phoenix Toler.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home (111 Market St, Peterstown, WV 24963). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 29th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
