He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. "Sonny" and Janice Bradley Dent. He is survived by: his sons, James C. Dent (Holly) of Peterstown, WV and Joshua Belcher of Peterstown, WV; his sister Paula Dunbar (Carl) of Ballard, WV; his grandson James Waylon Dent; his niece Kelsi Baldwin; and his nephews, Austin Waddell and Shane Bowers.

Due to the regulations associated with COVID-19 and the WV Governor's Mandate, those attending the visitation and funeral services are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
