He was predeceased by: his parents, George William Hoops, Sr. and Mary Fulton Hoops; his wife Linda Mitchum Hoops; his daughter Rhonda Hale; and his siblings, Betty Kirby, Sylvia Johnson, Joe Hoops and David Hoops.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Bennett of Radford, VA, Cindy Perdue of Talcott, WV and George W. Hoops, III of Michigan; his siblings, Garland Hoops of Peterstown, WV, Brenda Brookman of Rich Creek, VA, Phyllis Brookman of Peterstown, WV, Cathy Frederick of Peterstown, WV and Betty Sexton of Bluefield, WV; and his grandchildren, Ashley Bowers, Logan Weikle, Eric Stanley, Briana Pertee, Zoe Hoops, Zane Hoops and Samuel Hoops. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
