He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hughes and Ellen Lucille Shrewsbury; his wife Sherlyn Annette Shrewsbury (Sherry); and his brother Hughes Offarrell Shrewsbury. He is survived by: his pet Lucy; his daughters, Stacey Goins (James Jr.) of Morgantown, WV and Andrea Nivens (Phillip) of Concord, NC; his siblings, Johnny Shrewsbury (Nancy) of Peterstown, WV, Kenneth Shrewsbury (Phyllis) of Forrest Hill, WV, Betty McDaniel (late Roy) of Red Sulphur, WV and Linda Long (Cecil) of Red Sulphur, WV; and his grandchildren, Seth, Jalen, Marcus Goins, Lincoln Nivens and Harper Nivens.
