William Osceola Redman Obituary
William Osceola Redman, 80, of Petersburg, W.Va., died Friday, November 26, 1971, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.
Born on August 8, 1891, in Petersburg, he was a son of the late Arch B. Redman and Anna Elizabeth (Reel) Redman. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy B. (Martin) Redman, on January 2, 1959; five brothers, Holmes Redman, Page L. Redman, Emmitt Redman, John E. Redman and Charles H. Redman, and two sisters, Jennie E. Redman and Lena B. Redman.
Mr. Redman was a member of the Davis Chapel Methodist Church, and had been Superintendent of the Sunday school there since 1921. He had been a well known Poultry dealer in this area, and was the oldest child of 13 children to his father and mother.
Surviving are one foster daughter, Kitty Redman, of Cumberland, Md.; one step-daughter, Pauline King, of Cheektowaga, New York; one foster-son, Charles Redman, of Petersburg; one step-son, Clarence Walters, of Mt. Vernon, New York; four sisters, Cora L. Redman, of Keyser; Carrie L. Redman, of Petersburg; Anna E. Redman, of Staunton, Va., and Grace C. Groves, of Hubbard, Ohio, and one brother, Olie S. Redman, of Petersburg.
The Family will receive friends from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. today. Services will be conducted in the Schaeffer Funeral Home tomorrow at 2 p.m. Rev. Doyle Payne will officiate.
Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
