Velma Kisamore Lyon Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Kisamore Lyon (Petersburg, West Virginia), born in Onego, West Virginia, who passed away on March 31, 2019, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joel Kisamore and Clara Dolly Kisamore; her former husband Boyd Phares; her siblings, Burl, Marvin, Jonas Kisamore and Vercie Kisamore Carr; her sons-in-law, Dale Keplinger and Ronnie Myers; and her great great grandchild Thomas Olaf Berg.
She is survived by: her daughters, Bernice P. Carr (Harvey) of Maysville, WV, Shirley J. Myers, Bonnie L. Keplinger and Leta M. Carr (Vernon Jr.) of Lahmansville; her stepson Mike Lyon (Brenda); her sisters, Verda K. Bennett, Petersburg, Esther K. Vernon (Stan), Ethel K. Phares Dickerson and Otie K; and her aunt Dairie Dolly. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as cousins and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Velma Phares Lyon Memorial Fund, Cabins Assembly of God Church, C/O Bernice P. Carr, for pew Bibles or to the Grant County Rehabilitation and Care Center.
