He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Weed Hughes and Marjorie Irene Hughes (Marshall). He is survived by: his wife Peggy Hughes (Stump); his children, Keith Hughes of Mechanicsburg, PA, David VanMeter (Michele) of Elkins, WV, J. D. VanMeter (Amanda) of Petersburg, WV, Raymond VanMeter (Melody) of Moorefield, WV, Gwen Moyers (Mike) of Maysville, WV and Christy Nesselrodt (Bradley) of Mathias, WV; and his siblings, JoAnn Hurley (Donald) of Birdsboro, PA and Terry Hughes Grayson (Sharon). He is also survived by Eleven grandsons and six granddaughters; three great grandsons and one great granddaughter.
