She was predeceased by: her parents, John Newton Murphy and Zadie Elizabeth Blizzard Murphy; her daughter Diana Vandevander; her brother Johnny Murphy; her grandson Jonathan Vandevander; and her stepgreat-grandson Caden Kesner.

She is survived by: her sons, John Vandevander (Sandy) and William Vandevander (Debra) of Maysville, WV.; her siblings, Mary Lou Murphy and William "Bill" Murphy; her grandchildren, Stephanie Vandevander, Allison Vandevander, B. J. Vandevander and Justin Vandevander; her stepgrandchildren, Jesslyn Dunsmore, Stephanie Kesner, Curtis Kesner III and Brian Kesner; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Landon Dunsmore, Elizabeth Dunsmore, Natalee Kesner and Asharra Kesner.
