She was predeceased by: her parents, Abraham Jackson Fitzwater and Mary Catherine Whetzel Fitzwater; her former husband Joe Allen Shrout; and her siblings, Noah, Johnny, Russell, Calvin, Pete and Shirley.
She is survived by: her sisters, Nina, Naomi, Nellie and Susan; her husband Richard C. Bissell; and her stepdaughter Sue Ellen Shrout Depaulis of Bellaire, OH. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In honor of Maxine's life, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice, reflecting her spirit of generosity and compassion.
