She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse James Thompson and Merlie Vandevander (Maysell); her husband Alvin Smith; and her siblings, George Thompson, Virginia Thompson, Bessie Turner, Ruby Thompson and Dorothy Jean "Dot" Lantz.
She is survived by: her sisters, Rebecca Kline of Waldorf, MD and Betty Bennett of Cherry Grove, WV; and her great-niece Kayla Lantz of Petersburg, WV.. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
