James Oliver Redman Obituary
James Oliver Richard Redman, 61, of Redman Street, Petersburg, W.Va., died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at his residence while under the care of Grant Memorial Hospice.
Born on January 15, 1937, in Petersburg, he was a son of James J. M. Redman, of Petersburg, and the late Viola Freda (Gilmore) Redman. In addition to his mother he also was preceded in death by one infant sister; his paternal grandparents, John and Cora Redman, and his maternal grandparents, Mervin and Freda Gilmore.
Mr. Redman was employed with a construction company in Arlington, Va., and was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, Petersburg.
Surviving are his wife, Selena E. (Redman) Redman; two daughters, Barbara D. Smith and Gwendolyn A. Redman, both of Keyser; three sons, James M. "George" Redman, of Sugar Grove; Timothy R. Redman and Sidney D. Redman, both of Petersburg; seven grandchildren, Robert "Tony" Washington, LaToya Redman, Shawna Redman, Brea Washington, Jaymi Redman, Tameka Redman and Cory Washington, and one brother, Thomas Redman, of Wellsville, Ohio.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 13th at 11 a.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Calvin Redman and Ronald Boyd officiating.
Interment will be in the South Branch Potomac Memorial Gardens Petersburg.
Friends will be received Friday at 7-9 p.m at the Schaeffer Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made at Grant Memorial Hospice.
