The passing of Cheryl L. Payne of Petersburg, West Virginia, born in Richmond, Virginia leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on November 11, 2024 at the age of 59. She was predeceased by: her parents, Avis Gwendell Courtney and Evelyn Virginia Courtney (Thorne); her sister Glenna Ferguson; and her grandparents, Evers, Carrie Thorne, Avis David and Virginia Frances Courtney.
She is survived by: her fiancé Jamie O. Berg of Petersburg, WV; her brothers, Derwin Courtney (Linda) of Richmond and Michael Courtney (Jeanne) of Mims; and her aunts and uncles, Nancy Swick and Shelby Stump. She is also survived by six nieces and two nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Harmony Baptist Church (713 Country Rd, Maysville, WV 26833).
