She was predeceased by: her parents, Elbert Sanders and Alice Elam Sanders; her husband Gene Smith; and her sons, Raymond Smith and Olaf Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Darrell Smith (Jennifer) of Abingdon, VA and Clarsie Smith of Pounding Mill, VA; her brothers, Marvin Sanders of Bob Hope, WV and Billy Sanders of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Scottie Smith, Jason Smith, Caleb Wimmer, Anthony Smith and Angie Ratliff; her great grandchildren, Jayden Smith, Kaylen Smith, Emma Smith, Katelyn Rattliff, Ashley Ratliff, Brianna Smith, Brian Smith Jr. and Jacob Smith; her great great grandchild Xavier Ratliff; and her close friend Lois Hale.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fanning Funeral Home (4299 Coal Heritage Rd, Iaeger, WV 24844). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
