He was predeceased by: his father Harold Messer; and his brother Jerry Messer. He is survived by: his mother Phyllis Stallard Messer of Wise County, VA; his wife Wanda Bosworth Messer; his stepsons, John J. Tanouye and Richard Michael Tanouye; and his siblings, Martha Messer and Rick Messer.
