He was predeceased by: his former wife Martha Ann Mason; and his siblings, Nathan Dallas Whetzel, Ezra Bruce Whetzel, Norman Dale Whetzel, Harry Sterling Whetzel, Ruby Jean Crawford Ingles, Eva Ann Parsons, Richard Mullenax and Lester Mullenax.
He is survived by: his spouse Robin Elaine Plum; his children, Richard Edward Whetzel (Charles Snyder) of Poincinia, FL, Amanda Lea Williams (Bill) of Martinsburg, Shelia Ann DeVilder (Mike) of Blackman Flats and Barbara Ellen Auvil of Elkins; and his siblings-in-law, Patsy Stone of Akron, OH, Lulabelle Hardy of Parsons, Naomi Lambert of Mabie, Jack Parsons of Baltimore, MD, Gregory Mason of Akron, OH and Bryan Sponaugle, Jr. (Dottie) of Parsons. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
