It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Walter Hovatter of Parsons, West Virginia, born in Philippi, West Virginia, who passed away on June 30, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ona Hovatter and Mary Elizabeth Gilmore Hovatter; and his brothers, Carlton Hovatter and Kenneth "Digger" Hovatter. He is survived by: his children, Ona Jacob Hovatter (Joyce) of Parsons and Jon Curtis Hovatter (Deborah) of Parsons; his grandchildren, Sherry Hovatter (Carson White), Justin Hovatter (Hannah Beckner) and Matraca Gunnoe (Andrew); and his close friends, Johnny, Francie and Joan Lipscomb.
