She was predeceased by: her parent Gretta Simmons of Virginia; her sister Joyce Ann Smith (Simmons); her sisters-in-law, Jean Simmons (Bowers), Cathy Simmons (Robertson) and Nina Mae Simmons (Robinson); and her parents-in-law, Woodrow and Estalene Hott (Pownell).

She is survived by: her husband Gary W. Hott of Parsons, WV.; her children, Gregory W. Hott (Allyson), Melinda G. Runkle (David) of Bastrop, TX and Michelle D. Hebb (Danny) of Hendricks, WV.; her grandchildren, Natalie (Andrew "Jake" Bava), Lesley (Derek Stemple), Evan (Madeline Hott), David (Lawren Rhoades), Jacob (Mary Beth Hebb) and Zachary Rhoades of Bastrop, TX.; her great grandchildren, Addyson, Isla, Carter Stemple, Henley, Ella, Nash Bava and Sadie Hott; her siblings, Royal Lee Simmons, Donald Simmons (Monica), Ella Mae Simmons of Virginia, Marie (Simmons) of Virginia and Jamie Brock of Virginia; her brothers-in-law, Charles Hott (Mary Lou) of Kirby, WV and Larry Smith of Virginia; and her grandchildren, Travis Simmons (Sarah) of Virginia and Mary Ruth Whitacre (Haines) of Kirby, WV.. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She had lived in Parsons, WV but for the last five years Carol had been a resident of Cortland Acres in Thomas, WV due to her battle with Alzheimer's disease.
