He was predeceased by: his wife Karen D. Fankhauser; his parents, Gordon E. Fankhauser and Leatrice "Dede" Fankhauser (Kennedy); his brother Roger Fankhauser; and his brothers-in-law, Stephen Yachuw and Robert "Bobby" LeMasters.
He is survived by: his daughter Kristine "Kris" A. Way-Fankhauser; his daughter-in-law Ashley E. Way-Fankhauser; his grandchildren, Ashby Reid Way-Fankhauser and Everly M. Way-Fankhauser; his sister Kathy Yachuw of Elkins; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Fankhauser of Clarksburg and Sandy Jones (Michael) of Clarksburg; his nieces and nephews, Craig Yachuw, Melissa Yachuw, Billy Fankhauser, Jocelyn Vilain, Jessica LeMasters, Kaitlyn Matheny and Ryan Jones; his cousin Mary Frances "M. F." Eckl; and his friends, Sue Hathaway, Connie Cowan, Teresia and Shelly Tracey.
