He was predeceased by: his parents, Okey Richards and Luella Norman; his wife Sandra Jean Richards; his daughter Kellie Keesecker; his siblings, Howard, Chester, Herburt, Albert, Curtis Richards, Margaret Boggs, Doris Thomas and Jerry Byers; and his pets, Angel and Vinny.

He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly Ann Tibbs and Sarah Jean Vance (Robert); his grandchildren, Stacy Clark, Russell Vance, Melissa Dornon of Robert Vance, JR., Leigh Naylor and Billie Tibbs; and his great grandchildren, Makayla Parsons, Dalton Waggoner, Calista Clark, James Dornon, Jolina Waggoner, Katie Clark, Annie Naylor, Whitney Dornon, Jocelynn Naylor, Hailey Vance, Noah Naylor, Kylie Vance, Addison Brooks, Chevlynn Lancaster, William Naylor, Riverlynn Buskirk and Kimberlynn Buskirk.
