He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Cornell and Eunice Rexroad Cornell; and his siblings, Fredia Richards, Betty Richards and Marion Jonathan.

He is survived by: his wife Betty L. Cornell; his son Brian Cornell; his sisters, Mary Morehead and Maxine Love; and also, Doug Bumgarner (Debbie), Shawn Thornton (Lisa), Bob Starcher (Eulah) and Mike Townsend (Lisa).
