He was predeceased by: his parents, Brady Higgins and Nellie Reynolds Higgins; and his siblings, Denzil, Bob, Leona and Faye.
He is survived by: his wife Retha Newhart Higgins; and his children, David Higgins, Donald Higgins and Karen Higgins. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
