He was predeceased by: his parents, Lois Eloise Wigal (Woodyard) and Kenneth Wigal; his grandparents, Sam and Ethel Woodyard; his aunts and uncles, Kermit "Gene" Woodyard, James Woodyard, Alvie Townsend, B. Eleanor Townsend (Woodyard) and Viola Woodyard; and his cousin Robert Townsend.

He is survived by: his aunt Glenola Woodyard; his cousin Joe (Linda); and his family, Matthew, Rebekah (Bell), Cady DeBarr, Sarah and Rachel Townsend.
