He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Congdon Foutty; his son Dr. James Joseph "J. J." Foutty (Stacie); his grandchildren, Nicholas James Foutty, Jacob Dail Foutty, Adrianna Jane Foutty, Jonah Weston Foutty and Piper Grace Foutty; his niece Kelly Hopkins Metcalf (Charles); his nephew Joe Hopkins Schweickert; his great-niece Megan Hopkins; and his great-nephews, Keith Hopkins and Jason Stephens (Sonya) of Belleville.
