He was predeceased by: his parents, Allison Evert and Ava Blanche Stump Whitlatch; his wife Chloanna Fay Whitlatch; and his siblings, Evert L. Whitlatch and Anna Sutton.
He is survived by: his children, Diana L. Newton (Fred) of Washington, WV, James F. Whitlatch, II (Sandy) of Parkersburg and Hal Whitlatch (Nancy) of Belpre, OH; his grandchildren, Jamie Whitlatch (Stacey), Dennis Whitlatch and Herb Whitlatch (Trish); and his great grandchildren, Corey, Cassie, Tyler, Alex and Zane.
