He was predeceased by: his parents, Melchi Hunley and Dora Dean Hunley; and his brother Alan Hunley. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Hunley; his children, Teffany Armel (Allen) and Nicolas Hunley (Kristen); his stepdaughters, Trisha Payne (Matt), Amanda Sheppard (Jeremy) and Christina Hankins (Andrew); and his grandchildren, Ellery Hunley, Colson Hunley, Sydney Sheppard, Carson Sheppard, Awen Armel and Myles Payne.
