He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Edward and Doris Elizabeth Dernberger Buffington; his wife Eileen Jean Allman Buffington; his son Joseph Hurst; and his sister Carolyn Snyder.
He is survived by: his children, Marianna Miller (Donnie) of Belpre, Crystal Buck (Larry) of Belpre, Edward Buffington (Kimberly) and Perry Buffington (Mandy) of Parkersburg; his siblings, Peggy Wiggins (Mike) of Parkersburg, Joyce Ault of Parkersburg and Gary Buffington (Karen) of Donna, Texas; his grandchildren, Kerri, Angie, Aubrey, Faith, D. J., Chad, Ryan, Perry Jr. and Zach; his niece Tracy Wiggins; his close friends, Charlie Smith and Paul Simmons; and his pet Aurora. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
