With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Francis George Alvis (Parkersburg, West Virginia), born in Spencer, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 4, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Alvis and Imogene Watson Alvis; his former wife Gladys; his siblings, Dorothy, Rose and Garland; and his son David.
He is survived by: his wife Claire; his daughters, Carmen James (Jeff) and Rita Ernst (Dave); his brothers, Danny Alvis (Rosalie), Roger Alvis (Margaret) and Donald Alvis (Peggy); and his children, Yolanda Garner (Herschel), Kathy Linger, Jennifer Rector (Martin), Michael Morris (Angie) and Mary Beth Bradford (Kent). He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
