He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Gessler and Maria Zinn Gessler; his wife Kathryn Tanner Gessler; and his sisters, Katie Bills and Maria Zoller.
He is survived by: his daughters, Shannon Tuttle (Gary) of Waverly and Susan Mansberger of Parkersburg; and his grandchildren, Lily, Reed, Blaine Tuttle, Benny Goodnow, Sophie and Jack Mansberger.
