He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph C. Nutter and Aleen Nutter (Stevens). He is survived by: his wife Karen D. Nutter; his children, Kaitlin A. Aitken (Brian), Joseph S. Nutter, Jr. (Cassie), Matthew R. Nutter, Ryan S. Nutter (Lindsey), Connor J. Nutter and Riley E. Nutter; and his grandchildren, Madeline J. and Elliott M. Nutter.
