He was predeceased by: his parents, Denzel A. Reed and Ruth Reed (Matheny); and his sisters, Delsey Corley (Chuck), Phyllis Brown (Walter) and Donna Reed.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Reed (Stevens); his children, James Reed of Paden City, WV and Melody Glasscock (Edious Earl) of New Martinsville, WV; his siblings, Dolly Reed (Ray) of Connecticut, Richard Reed of Wheeling, WV, Carol Chauncey of Yulee, FL, Della Hamilton of Virginia, Summer Steadman of Florida, Julie Kennedy of Virginia, Todd Johnson (Clarissa) of Fairmont, WV and Howard Johnson of Moatsville, WV; and his grandchildren, Kacie, Trey, Phillip, Emersyn, Bre-Lynn and Bentley. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Furbee Williams Funeral Home - Middlebourne (217 Main St, Middlebourne, WV 26149). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hope Fellowship.
