He was predeceased by: his parents, James Russell Posey and Ella Deletha Puffenbarger Posey; and his sister Delsie Elloise Posey. He is survived by: his children, Russell Junior "Rusty" Posey, Floid "Marty" Posey (Barbara), Jerry Posey and Susan Stafford (Carl); and his grandchildren, Martin Posey (Denise), Tiffany Metz (DJ), Shawn Posey (Jackie), Courtney Morris (Marcus), Carl A. Stafford, Joseph Posey and Austin Posey.
His remarkable contributions to the industry were notably made at Mtn State Log Homes and Lowther Trucking.
