She was predeceased by: her father George Cleveland Trumbo Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Glen Bates; her children, Glenda Bates (Poh Soon Teng) and George Bates (Brittany Bates); her grandsons, Theo and Nolan; and her sister Jo Jordan (Bob Jordan).

Memorial contributions may be made to Vienna Presbyterian Church or a church of choice.
