He was predeceased by: his stepson Ritchie Petry; his grandson Patrick Petry; his parents, Charles Ward and Mildred Bowyer Ward; and his siblings, Eugene Ward and Shirley Dickerson.
He is survived by: his wife Debra Ward of Ohley; his daughters, Dawn Ford (Tim) of Raleigh, NC and Nedra Foster (Shelby) of Eskdale; his stepdaughter Melissa Petry of Ohley; his siblings, Carolyn Ward of Sharon, Esther Taylor of Cabin Creek, Chuck Ward (June) of St. Albans and Tommy Ward of Florida; his grandchildren, Jason, Katie, Tyler (Kortni), Destiny, Jonathan, Ritchie Jr., Shelbie of Gracie, D. J., Alex and Shyann; and his great grandchildren, Jace, Colton, Waylon, Keira, Wyatt and Kaleb.
