Walter Vernon Backus Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Vernon Backus of Oak Hill, West Virginia, who passed away on July 22, 2023, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lee and Cora Backus of Alta, WV.; his wife Christine Backus; his grandson Mason Wayne Bowyer; and his siblings, Dessie Morris, Charles Pritt and Ruth Pritt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kristy Thompson and Tiffany Bowyer (Jesse); his grandchildren, Hailey Bowyer, Erik Thompson, Easton Bowyer and Quinn Thompson; his pets, Bandit and Bello; his siblings, Mattie Kincaid, Roberta Young, Robert Pritt, Joetta Hamilton, Arlene Perdue, Doug, Mary, Josh, Amber Whisman and Katrinka Perdue; and his friend Grace Bevans. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, family, and friends.
