He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas W. Sr James and Elizabeth Shuck James; and the mother of his children Margaret Ellen Wooten James. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Perry James; his stepchildren, Sherri Shumate (John), Scott Johnson (Teresa), Grampie, Johnna, Perry, Zach and Lexi; his brother-in-law David Perry (Nancy); his sons, David James (Mary), Tom James (Susie) and George James (Nanette); his grandsons, Michael and Nathaniel James; his great grandchild Samuel; his grandchildren, Dustin, Amanda and Jayda; his great grandchildren, Piper and Harper; and his siblings, Clara Rushing (Oliver) and Dale James (Linda). He is also survived by nieces and nephews and many friends.
