He is survived by: his wife Tammy L. Moore of Oak Hill. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.

“I am so very sorry for your loss. I didn't know Mr. Moore, but I lost my husband in the same mine almost 29 years ago. He and a co-worker were killed by a slab of rock. I wanted to reach out to the family to tell you my thoughts and prayers have been with you during this difficult time. May God bless and strengthen you and give you peace. It's a hard thing to lose a loved one in such a tragic way. I deal with my loss only through the grace of God and his loving care. Bless you, Sharon”
