It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Polly Ellen Smithson of Oak Hill, West Virginia, born in Scarbro, West Virginia, who passed away on September 3, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Payne and Lottie Fielding Payne; her former husband George Tate; her husband Robert Smithson; and her sisters, Marjorie Wykle, Sarah Smith, Betty Griffith and June Rousselle.
She is survived by: her son Michael Tate (Elizabeth); her grandson Jesse Tate; her great grandchildren, Ava Tate and Tristan Tate; and her close friend Michelle Evans.
