He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Lyons and Livey Mae Campbell; his close friend Annette Susan Williams; and his siblings, Bob, Bill, Jim, Colin (Johnny) and Wanda.

He is survived by: his children, Brian Lyons (Brooke) of Oak Hill and Melissa Bonifacio Smith of Beckley; his brother David Lyons (Connie) of Virginia; his grandchildren, Sierra Hoffmeyer (Elliot) of Michigan, Austin Bennett of Beckley, Elisabeth Dale, Brayden Dale and Livey Mae Lyons of Oak Hill; and his great grandchildren, Charles Hoffmeyer, Shih and Milley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
