It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Merritt James of Oak Hill, West Virginia, who passed away on February 5, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Thomas James and Etta Garnet Thomas; his grandparents, George, Sallie James, Robert Pete Merritt and Gussie Arthur Merritt; his stepfather Frank Calvin Thomas; his nephew John Michael James; his sister Martha Smith (Ray); his wife Betty Dotson James; his sons, Richard Wayne James (Elizabeth) of Oak Hill and Charles Joseph James (Terrie) of Florida; his grandchildren, Jessica, Keri of Oak Hill, Justyn and Dalton of Florida; and his great-grandparent William H. Barringer.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic a service will be held at a later date when we can all embrace and celebrate John's life safely.
