We bid farewell to Carletta Jean Proffitt (Oak Hill, West Virginia), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 11, 2024 at the age of 82. Carletta touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Roy; her parents, Carl Short and Opal Short of Oak Hill; her grandparents, Hernetta and John Perkins; and her pets, Angel and Tutti.

She is survived by: her stepchildren, Jean Michelle Treadway (Randall Shultz), Christina Greenwald (George), Mary Rothwell, Meg Adkins and Michael Proffitt; her grandchildren, Thomas Shepherd, Heather Shepherd, Christopher Lanham, Dustin Davis, Sarah Willis, Bubba Rothwell, Samantha Proffitt and Katie Adkins; her great grandchildren, Bentley and Jordan; and her daughter Jasmine. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel (1435 Main St E, Oak Hill, WV 25901). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
