He was predeceased by: his mother Brenda Harrah Plunkett; and his grandparents, Ralph, Mildred Harrah, Stanley and Mary Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Shawna Adkins-Cox; his friends, Christopher Frost of Sanger, WV and Gregory Hewitt of Charleston, WV.; and his nephews, Carson Cox of Fayetteville, WV, Chris Frost and Greg Hewitt.
The family requests that donations be made in Shawn's honor to Hospice of Southern West Virginia in lieu of flowers.
