We are sad to announce that on September 18, 2023, at the age of 94, Helen R. Shack Pokrzywa of Nutter Fort, West Virginia, born in Clarksburg, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Shack and Frances Serwatka Shack; her son Mark Pokrzywa; her siblings, Mary Malaska (Leo), Josephine Androw (Steve), Stella Tomaszewski (Vince), Virgil Shack (Gen), Chester Shack (Mary) and Edward Shack; and her son-in-law Bruce Alker.
She is survived by: her husband John Pokrzywa; her children, Joseph "Joe" Pokrzywa of Berkeley County, WV and Patricia "Patty" Alker of Nutter Fort; her great grandchildren, Juliana "Jules" and Caira; her granddaughter Natalie Haddix (Jeremy) of Nutter Fort; her great great grandchildren, Sophia and Roman; and her nephew Bill Shack. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
