We are sad to announce that on March 5, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Mary Lou of Nitro, West Virginia. In the sacred silence of farewell, Mary is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Mary's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her husband William; her parents, H. B. Hughes and Lura Raines Hughes; and her siblings, Harry, Bill, Henry, Mildred, Marie and Claudia.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rebecca Mathis (Teddy) of Alexandria, Leslie Marion (Gary) and Catherine of Nitro. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, plus the many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church (2008 20th St, Nitro, WV 25143). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
