He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Coles and Marjorie Coles; and his parents-in-law, Gerald "Jerry" and Juanita Sayre. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Sayre Coles; his children, Patrick Coles (Stephanie) of Sissonville and Melanie Coles Thomas of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren, Jerrod Coles, Shawn Newman, Anthony Newman, Madeline Southall Wallace (Phil) of Cleveland, OH, Karly Southall of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rebecca Southall of Orlando, FL, Alli Coles Liddle (Austin) of Saint Albans and Meadow Newman; his siblings, Kenneth Coles of Richmond, VA and Nancy Ratcliffe (Raymond) of Richmond, VA; and his brother-in-law Dave Sayre of Sunrise, FL..
