He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil McCutchen and Goldie McCutchen; his stepson Jesse Rose; and his siblings, David McCutchen, Phyllis Meester, Violet Fitzwater, Ruth Breenan and Virginia.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret McCutchen; his children, Michael McCutchen of Davis Creek, Pam Dunlap (Scott) of Cross Lanes, Kathy Gillispie of Dunbar and Diane Laughlin of Campbells Creek; his stepchildren, Kim Wills (Steve) of Milton and Paul Rose (Laura) of Elkview; and his siblings, Clarence McCutchen of Columbus, OH, Eugene McCutchen (Betty) of Florida, Lucille Sellers of Florida, Pearl Gillenwater of Georgia and Eva Mae Harless (Garland) of Hurricane. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
