She was predeceased by: her parents, Rex H. Smith and Nina M. Hensley Smith; her husband James R. Harold; her grandchildren, Ashlee Jo Elmore and David Wayne Smith; her stepmother Ottie Smith; her brothers, Brooks, Charles and Dennis Smith; and her stepsiblings, Jim Dolan and Linda Ferrell.
She is survived by: her children, Rita Blevins of Newton, Ron Bays of Corpus Christie, Shirley Bays of Newton, Deedrea Harold of Newton and Bill Harold of Newton; her sister Madlyn Backus of Charleston; her stepbrother Gene Dolan of Newton; and her half-brother Stephen Smith of Newton. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
