He was predeceased by : his parents, Allen Keith Swisher (Al) and Margaret Leota Barker (Boylen); and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Adams (Bill), Janet Lipscomb and Jack Hawkins.

He is survived by : his wife Brenda Kay Swisher (Hawkins); his son Matthew Hovatter; his grandchildren, Austin and Traytin Hovatter; his brothers, Lawrence Swisher Wheeling (Melissa) and Edward Swisher (Millie); his nieces, Hermiety Van Laar (Grant) and Miranda Cox (Lucas); his nephew Jebb Swisher (Kerrigan); his great grandchildren, Gracie and Finley; his uncles, William Boylen and Carl Boylen; and his siblings-in-law, Olaf Frank Hawkins Jr. Newburg (Ellen), Joyce Bolyard Newburg (Charles) and Debra Hawkins.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 26th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, June 27th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Birds Creek.
