He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan D Fortney and Lucille H Fortney (Teter). He is survived by: his sons, D. Mitchell Fortney (Brittany) and Justin J Fortney (Pamela) of Oakland, MD; his grandchildren, Adam, Kynley and Briar; his siblings, Danny K Fortney (Dorene) of Anderson, SC, Denny L Fortney (Susan), John D Fortney (Deborah) of Rome, OH, Edgar E Fortney and Belinda Trickett (Mike); his niece Breana K Fortney; and his aunt Jean Teter.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bolyard Funeral Home & Cremation (79 Morgantown Ave, Newburg, WV 26410). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
