He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Henry and Clarice J Loughrie McDaniel; his brother Thomas J; his former wife Madeline McDaniel; his sisters, Eloise (Woodrow Wilt) and Nancy Minton; and his brothers-in-law, James "Bud" Wolfe and Kenny Castle.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Joanne Castle McDaniel; his children, Robin Davis, Jimmy, Tracy Taylor (Gary Pell), Thornton, Eric McDaniel, Lisa, Ashley McDaniel (Josh Metz) and Andrea McDaniel (Lloyd Ford); his grandchildren, Logan Davis, Emily Sisler, Richard, Jesse Davis, Trevor McDaniel, Zane Taylor, Chelsea Taylor and Audrey McDaniel; his great grandchild Mason Sisler; his siblings, Mary Lou Wolfe and Fred D McDaniel (Nancy) of Philippi; and his siblings-in-law, Betty and Lester Pratt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
